Inspiring Future Musicians!

On Wednesday 5th March, Year 9 students at Clifton Community School participated in an afternoon drumming workshop with Jeff Rich, the drummer from Status Quo!

The inspirational event provided students with an insight into the music Industry and took them through a historical tour of the development of the drum kit.

Students were invited to perform with Jeff as part of the workshop and several drum students had the chance to perform on Jeff’s personal drum kit.

All Year 9 students that took part will receive a postcard home with Jeff’s autograph, whilst students who performed will get the autographed postcard with their personal performance photograph on the front!

Well Done Hannah!

Hannah, a pupil at Clifton School, aged 15 and Nicholas, aged 14 have been dancing together for 7 weeks. They train together regularly 8-9 hours a week and are trained by Jackie Conway, Dale Bennett and Kevin Allcott. They travel between Sheffield and Birmingham for lessons and practices.

Both Hannah and Nicholas have competed in competitions all over the UK, including Blackpool Winter Gardens, with previous partners making regular finals.

Year 7 Kingswood Residential

During the Year 7 Kingswood residential, students completed literacy workshops to create their own imaginary communities. They used their community to write creative and descriptive scripts which they went on to perform and turn into their very own spooky films!
