Macmillan Bake Sale

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who supported the Macmillan event we ran last week.

Thank you to the bakers (pupils and staff) who donated products and prizes and the customers who spent their money.

Also the Y10 Hospitality group who spent lessons in September baking a variety of products to sell.

We raised a total of £414.36 for this deserving charity.

Clifton meets Macmillan Bake Off!

Our Year 10 Hospitality students will be hosting Macmillan’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Wednesday 23rd September 2015 as a practice for their controlled assessment!

As a part of the event, we are offering Clifton students a Bake-Off challenge! Students who wish to take part will need to produce 12 identical examples of their bake from one of the following categories:

  • Cupcakes / buns
  • Pastry products
  • Scones
  • Cakes (12 slices)
  • Biscuit/cookie/tray bake
  • International food.

Entry forms are available from T4. Students wishing to enter must bring their baked products to T4 on the 22nd or 23rd September together with their entry forms. One example of the student’s bake will be used to judge the competition, with the remaining 11 being sold to raise money for Macmillan! Certificates and prizes will be awarded to those who donate a bake – Good luck!

Group Tutor Evening

On Thursday 1st October 2015, we will be holding a Group Tutor Evening for all year groups.

The evening will run from 5.00pm until 7.30pm and will be an opportunity for parents and carers to meet their child’s group tutor to discuss their progress as well as to find out how we will be supporting them this academic year. Group Tutors will be making contact with parents to arrange an appointment.

We look forward to seeing you there!
