Our Students Visit Rawmarsh For Climbing Competition

Last night we took 7 students to Rawmarsh to take part in a climbing competition. They all took on challenging climbs and proved just how much they have progressed since the start of the year.

All were fantastic but a special mention to Jade Scott, who came second out of all the girls (across 3 schools). If she’d had 5 more minutes she would have come first!

They showed great enthusiasm but it wasn’t their climbs that drew the attention, it was their fantastic sportsmanship towards other kids. I was so proud of how supportive and encouraging they were to other schools despite it been a competition. All our kids were clapping and cheering other kids on and giving them words of encouragement. At one point TJ said to a Wickersley student ‘you can do it, I believe in you’!

Well done to all of the students who took part:
Jade Scott
Ihab Al-Zindani
Josh Underwood
Charlie Carr
TJ Sellars
Ellie Haywood
Uneeb Ihsan

Y10 STEM Trip to Teen Tech 2017

Mr Goorwitch and Mr Gurran accompanied 10 Y8 students to Teen Tech 2017 and they were a real credit to themselves, their families and Clifton.  Their behaviour, enthusiasm, innovation and articulation (when presenting to strangers on three occasions) were real highlights of the day.

Their design of a 3D-food printer for the third world was not only innovative but the first example from all schools that benefitted those less fortunate which speaks volumes about our students.

It was a real pleasure to enjoy the day with them and if you see any of them tomorrow please congratulate them and hopefully they’ll tell you even more about it.

Well done to all students who took part:
Ameerah Ali
Lauren Wilson
Uzaira Hussain
Jack Stocks
Arame Sow Ndour
Alex Mace
Christopher Evans
Sam McAnespie
Ellie Bullen
