Community and Family Learning in the Clifton Partnership

familylearningday08As part of the Clifton Partnership, the school is committed to promoting learning for all family members.

Family learning events are held on Saturday mornings during the year. The dates for the next two events are 19th May 2009 and 4th July 2009. Pupils in Key Stage 2 and Years 7 and 8 will bring home information for families to book onto courses. The activities are based around children and a family member learning together.

community_cookingOn Wednesday mornings there is a drop in session for parents and carers in the Media Resource Centre. Refreshments are available. Whether you want to know more about what is going on in school or you want to help with reading, maths or in another area, parents and carers are most welcome.

community_photographyIn school we host a number of activities; one of the most popular is the digital photography course which is now in its fourth year. Students learn how to compose and enhance photographs using photographic soft ware.

We have a new workshop for theatre skills run by the Workers Education Association. The workshops promote presentation skills allowing participants to be confident in interview, presenting their own work or performing drama.

community_cdfChera's Dance Factory is open in the Performing Arts Suite every Saturday from 10 o'clock.

Please see the information about all courses in the partnership. If you or somebody you know would like to join these sessions, please contact the school where the activity is held to enrol.
