Built in voice recognition programmes

Built in voice recognition programmes come free with your computer. If you use Windows or Mac OSX you can use your voice to control it.

Windows
Windows Speech Recognition lets you use your computer without a mouse or keyboard. It comes with Windows Vista and Windows 7, but not Windows XP.

  1. Click the Start button, or press the Windows
  2. Type Ease of Access Center, then press the Enter
  3. Select Use the computer without a keyboard or mouse.

Mac OSX
Mac OSX Speakable Items lets you control your computer without a keyboard or mouse, but it doesn’t support dictation into documents or programmes.

  1. Open System Preferences from the Dock or through the Apple
  2. Select Speech.
