On Wednesday 7th March, some of our year 11 students had the opportunity to attend the ‘Apprenticeships: Be inspired’ 2018 event at the Cutlers Hall in Sheffield. This was the perfect opportunity for some of our students to meet employers, understand more about vacancies and industry sector, make connections, distribute their tailored CVs and learn how to apply for the roles.
The feedback from employers was that the preparedness and interaction from the students was brilliant and they felt that the students really had more of an idea than previous years about what an apprenticeship is and why they wanted certain roles.

On January 31st, year 9 parents and students attended a combined parental and options evening, giving our young people the opportunity to discuss with all staff what courses are available to them as they prepare to pick their GCSE courses. We had a very positive turn out, it was encouraging to see so many students having prepared questions and discussing their future prospects, whether it be higher education, apprenticeships and potential future careers.
Our students will now have the time and opportunity to discuss options with Senior Learning Team staff, throughout March, before making their final decisions.
