The Curriculum

Clifton students follow a curriculum outlined by the government but adapted to ensure they reach their full potential. We know that not every student is the same. To achieve the best from our students we identify their needs and endeavour to fulfil them.

Therefore, students are grouped based on ability and their lessons are designed to not only meet their needs but ensure they feel challenged and engaged.

All students follow a timetable of 20 lessons per week.

Students who require additional support will be removed from Spanish lessons to study extra English lessons and Computing lesson to receive extra Maths lessons.

In Y7 & 8, students all follow a fixed KS3 curriculum, comprising a broad and balanced curriculum as outlined below.

Y9, 10 & 11 make up our KS4. During KS4, students will study their core subjects alongside the subjects they have chosen as their options. A list of the full subjects available to take as an option can be found on our subjects page.

Students who require intervention/additional support will study towards 2 or 3 options and work with the learning mentors to further support their study in other subjects.

If you have any queries or questions relating to the Curriculum, please contact Mrs Kerry Wade, Assistant Headteacher, kwade@cliftonschool.org.
