Religious Education

Why study Religious Education?

Religious Studies is a brilliant subject for developing a range of skills, exploring other cultures and asking the big questions in life!

What will I study?

You will be studying a range of life issues; including war, relationships and prejudice. We will then move on to explore religious expression in society; which means looking at music and art, amongst other things.

What happens in lessons?

In lessons we look at examples, use case studies, watch short clips, complete written tasks, have group discussions and try creative ways to explore deep topics.

How will I be assessed?

The GCSE course is assessed in a two paper exam. In each paper you will answer questions on four topics. Each topic will be worth 18 marks.

What skills will I need?

You will use lots of different skills in class; including investigation, evaluation, forming judgements, literacy skills and higher order thinking.
