MAT Sports Day

On Wednesday 8th July, Clifton joined together with the Multi Academy Trust schools, Rawmarsh and Wickersley, to host a joint Sports Day.

Each school was asked to select their elite athletes to compete at Herringthorpe Stadium against the two other schools.

Clifton had a strong team of 86 elite athletes who competed in a range of track and field events. The afternoon was a huge success with the following Clifton pupils taking a podium position:

Charlie Marshall  – 1st place 100m & 3rd place long jump
Marie Bah- 2nd place shot putt.
Nicole Wraith – 3rd place shot putt.
Chad Carney – 2nd place in 200m
Callem Billen – 1st place shot putt
Kian Rose – 1st place discuss
Junaid Boston – 2nd place at 800m
Josh Woodcock – 3rd place 800m
Elton Tshuma – 1st place 800m
Said Jamal – 2nd place 100m and 2nd place long jump.
Luke Britten – 3rd place at Javelin.

Our students showed great resilience, impeccable behaviour and team camaraderie. The students made us especially proud by supporting and cheering not just for Clifton, but for students from all three schools; showing amazing sportsmanship!  Well done to all who took part!
