Our Y11 boys locked horns with Oakwood for the second time this season. We were keen to gain revenge for our cup exit at the hands of the hosts in the opening game of the season. We did this in some style with a 6-0 victory.
We started the game strongly and created a couple of decent openings before we took the lead. Louis Waterhouse’s deep corner was met smartly on the volley by Brendan Walker for his second goal of the season.
We took control of the game from this point with front pairing Amaan Ghnani and Connor Coady linking up well to create chances for one another. Not for the first time this season we met an in form goalkeeper who kept us at bay. The pressure was mounting though and we doubled our advantage through Connor after a well placed cross from Amaan. The boys at the back were keeping Oakwood at bay with Jack Johnson making 3 smart blocks to repel their main threat.
2-0 at half time and we were able to up a gear after Faisal Khairy scored our third just after the break with the help of a massive deflection.
Connor then latched onto a long ball and kept a calm head to make the score 4-0 as Oakwood began to tire.
Henrik Santana gave a strong performance in defensive midfield and he scored our fifth following a rare foray up field.
Connor rounded the scoring off with a well taken lob to complete his hatrick.
6-0 at full time and an excellent performance that showed that the boys are turning into a very good footballing team.
Connor was our Man of the Match but there was not a weak link in the side.
