Summer Music Concert

The annual Summer Music Concert was held at Clifton Community School on Tuesday 30th June.  It was a spectacular event, enjoyed by performers, staff and family, despite the sweltering heat.

As well as featuring our own talented youngsters, the concert opened with a selection of songs performed by a choir of over 60 KS1 and KS2 school pupils from East Dene, Badsley Moor and Coleridge Primary Schools.  The young singers sang with true enthusiasm and enjoyed being in the spotlight.  Following refreshments in the garden, the second half opened with a guest appearance from Wickersley Concert Band, with ‘Another One Bites the Dust’, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ and ‘Mambo No. 5’ which had everyone on their feet dancing!  After an astonishing solo electric guitar performance by Jan in Y10, Soul Band ended the concert with renditions of ‘Superstition’ and a medley of ‘Your Lips are Moving/Hold on I’m coming’ featuring an outstanding drum solo from Y11 GCSE Music student James.

Well done and thank you to everyone involved in this fantastic highlight of 2015!
