Year 8 Options Success

Last week the Year 8 students took a big step in their education when they made their GCSE option choices. They had spent a lot of time thinking about what they would like to be in the future and which GCSE subjects they would need to reach their goals.

On Thursday we held the options evening to allow students to find out about the subjects they are thinking about studying. It was a fantastic evening with students really giving the teachers a grilling about subjects in order for them to make the best decisions. It was brilliant to see so many families at school and there was a real buzz of excitement amongst the students. They can now look forward to getting started on their courses in June and we wish them all the best.

Year 9 Options Evening Success

On January 31st, year 9 parents and students attended a combined parental and options evening, giving our young people the opportunity to discuss with all staff what courses are available to them as they prepare to pick their GCSE courses. We had a very positive turn out, it was encouraging to see so many students having prepared questions and discussing their future prospects, whether it be higher education, apprenticeships and potential future careers.

Our students will now have the time and opportunity to discuss options with Senior Learning Team staff, throughout March, before making their final decisions.
