If you have a child currently in Y10 studying Fine Art or Textiles, you will shortly receive a letter inviting you to purchase an Art Pack. This is not compulsory, but it would help your child to be able to complete homework using the same equipment as they use in school.
Are you interested in being a part of the funnest club at Clifton Community School? Would you like free tickets to Clifton’s very own cinema experience?
Our Film Club runs every few months in the Performance Hall, where we offer our students the chance to see the latest movies for free, in a fun film-themed set up complete with comfy bean bags to sit on!
For our next instalment, we will be showing the prehistoric, animated family drama “The Croods” on Wednesday 11th March at 3.15pm. Remember, if you want to attend film club, you MUST get your parents or carers to sign a permission slip – which are available for collection from Miss Hewitt or Miss Latham in CS8.
Students have been working on the topic of ‘measure’ in Numeracy this half term and have done many exciting practical activities. One of these activities involved students planning and making their own magic potion. Students had to plan what ingredients in what amounts and then show this on their measuring jug. Some weird and wonderful ingredients were used; trolls bogie, Dragon’s blood, tears from fairies and slime just to mention a few!
Over the last few weeks, students in every year group have been awarded with Gold, Silver and Bronze prizes for their aspirational attitude towards effort, attendance and punctuality.
Three times a year, students will receive a credit score based on average effort, attendance and punctuality. These credits are quantified, with top achievers receiving either a Gold, Silver or Bronze award depending on the number of credits received.
Students who won awards received a signed certificate from Mr Hardcastle, a letter of congratulations home, and a Clifton Community School Gold, Silver or Bronze pin, which they can wear on their school jumpers or cardigans.

Mrs Thompson’s Year 7 Maths group recently took part in a poster activity where they were required to visit the school car park and collect information based on car colour and make. From the data they collected, the students created a tally chart which was then converted into a bar chart and pictogram. Each student presented their findings in a poster, which are now proudly displayed on a board in the classroom.
