Netball Match Against Winterhill

The girls Netball fixtures got underway last night with a home fixture against Winterhill for Years 8 & 9.

Our Year 9 Team came up against an extremely strong Winterhill side (who made the Finals last year) but this did not prevent them from putting up a competitive fight and gave them the opportunity to show off their enthusiastic & positive ethos. Special mention goes to Sandrine, Amelia & Ellie Bullen who competed in their first ever Netball Match for Clifton and who have slotted straight into this friendly and supportive Team.
The Year 8 Team continued to build on the success of last year and ensured a resounding 13-3 victory. All the girls played brilliantly, but special mention must go to Ellie Oates & Sathurja who’s defensive skills, in their first ever game, kept the opposition to only 3 goals. As for their captain; Qirath, she played in a new position of GA and after spending all summer practicing her Shooting, her hard work certainly paid off and contributed massively to the extremely positive scoreline.

Well done to all of the girls who took part!

Year 10 and 11 girls came in strong with Tiegan and Shantel coming in the top ten in a tough field of runners.
