Y9 Geography students recently showed their creative sides when making their very own shoebox rainforest as an end of topic task. Students were given a criteria to work too to make their rainforests were as accurate as possible. Some chose to to work alone, others in groups. All worked very well and came up with some fantastic designs with the winning team of Richard Mroc and Marek Sivak. Well done to all.

At the start of the Easter Holidays, 20 Y10 students, accompanied by Mrs Wade, Miss St-Pierre, Miss Hughes and Mr Davies attended an Army residential at Catterick Garrison in North Yorkshire and they had an absolutely incredible experience and did themselves and Clifton proud. The students had some amazing experiences and they all pushed themselves harder than they thought possible and tried their best in every activity. They all learnt loads about themselves and showed an impressive amount of resilience. The students had the opportunity to take part in a combat shooting range, a variety of command tasks, had real-life experiences working with snipers and the camouflage team, military police (they had to chase and arrest a suspect, search the scene, a car and interview a witness) the medics and Royal Engineers. On the second night, after a really long day, they travelled to a different barracks and took part in a range of sporting challenges and on the final morning, the students all attempted the assault course which every single one of them had a good go at. They supported each other to get through it and worked hard as a team to make sure that nobody was left behind.
At the end of the course, there was a presentation and some prizes were awarded as follows;
Overall best boy – Hikmat
Overall best girl – Jessie
Best shot male – Josh
Best shot female – Jessie
Endeavour Award – Jamie
The Colonel who presented the award described the students as impeccable and I couldn’t think of a better word to describe them. We are really looking forwards to our next opportunity and a large proportion of the students have asked to go again!

On Monday, 32 students across Y7 and Y8 had the exciting opportunity to go to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park to support their studies in English. As we approached the Park, the excitement and anticipation was clear to see on the students faces.
