Year 9 Geography Students went to the Holderness Coast on Friday 17th May. Students visited the Seaside town of Hornsea and Mappleton. This is the first of 3 Fieldwork experiences our GCSE Geography students will have over their 3-year course. Students were investigating Coastal Erosion and the Sea Defences put in place to try to reduce the erosion. They will be completing a project on their findings that they will be able to use both in their Paper 1 and 3 of their GCSE exams. Students were a credit to the Clifton and enjoyed the day many sampling the local Fish and Chips or Ice Cream.
Y9 Geography students recently showed their creative sides when making their very own shoebox rainforest as an end of topic task. Students were given a criteria to work too to make their rainforests were as accurate as possible. Some chose to to work alone, others in groups. All worked very well and came up with some fantastic designs with the winning team of Richard Mroc and Marek Sivak. Well done to all.
This half terms homework project for Y8s in geography was to complete a piece of work on the topic of Rivers and Flooding. Aladar has produced a piece of work to show the different elements of the water cycle. He has included a list of the 7 stages of the cycle as well as arrows to demonstrate the direction of the water. Aladar has also used different resources including some grass to show the real ground.
Great work, Aladar!
