UKMT Junior Maths Challenge

At the start of this term, our top mathematicians in year 7 and 8 took part in the UKMT Junior Maths Challenge – a national competition of 25 challenging maths problems that really stretched them! All took part with a good level of determination and showed the Clifton way in their approach.

This week we’ve had the results, and 8 kids have done exceptionally well and won awards.

They are:
Said Jamal – Silver certificate
Logan McCloud – Silver certificate
Eman Abdulrahman – Silver certificate
Phoebe Roberts – Silver certificate
Abigail Foord – Bronze certificate
Ayesha Abrar – Bronze certificate
Jack Walker – Bronze certificate
Dawid Rutkowski – Bronze certificate

Well done to everyone who took part!

Students received points from their teachers and prizes were given based on the final leaderboard. Junaid finished in first place with 171 points, Mohammad was second with 161 and Marija came third with 153 points.

MathsWatch Is Now Live!

MathsWatch is available to all our students to help them prepare for any of their Maths exams or assessments. All have usernames and passwords so get on to do some alternative revision or homework.

All students have access to MathsWatch and have their own login which consists of 3 letters. If you need your login or password, see your maths teacher or email!

Your teacher will set regular homework on MathsWatch and it’s a great tool for revision.

Y7 Students Enjoy the STEM Trip

Year 7 students have recently attended the fun and informative STEM (Science, Engineering, Technology and Maths) trip at Wales High School. Each student had a great day designing, building, modifying and testing cars powered by elastic bands and trebuchets, to throw as far as possible.

The students did a fantastic job working together as both the designs worked. They did a great job of representing Clifton, their behaviour and enthusiasm was fantastic.

Well done, guys!
