Do you have what it takes to be the next Rock Star?
The annual Christmas Concert took place on Tuesday 19th December with almost 60 pupils from Y7-11 performing to a jam-packed audience of family, friends and staff!
Soul Band opened and closed the show with a spectacular Stevie Wonder medley and our own version of ‘Fairytale of New York’. We had debut performances by Ellie Haywood in Y8, our Y7 beginner saxophonists (Boris Abaffy, Helena Benakova and Tayyub Rashid), and our 30-strong Y7 choir singing their hearts out to ‘Rocking Around the Christmas Tree’. Several of the Clifton Factor Finalists performed too, as soloists and as an ensemble with ‘Band Aid 30’.
We also had highlight performances from seasoned musicians in Y10 and Y11, including ‘Faded’ by Landon Drabble, ‘Can’t Stop’ by Chelsea Swift, Juste Ziulpaite, Deniz Erkal and Mat Orme, ‘Oh Ms Believer’ by Music Leaders Alice Hardy and Leonie Mounsey and ‘Sunshine of Your Love’ by Y11s Mario Gabor, Laura Janova, Nikolas Patkan and Leonard Mata.
We are incredibly of all of our musicians and the progress they have made this term – well done to all involved!
Thankyou to everyone who came along and we wish you a very merry Christmas!
Last night 12 musicians from Y10 and Y11 visited RCAT to watch the first year L3 BTEC Music students perform their first show, ‘A Story of Motown’. The pupils were a credit to Clifton, and really enjoyed watching musicians in the next stage of their musical studies. We also had the pleasure of seeing some ex-Clifton musicians performing on stage! Pupils also had a talk from Music staff at RCAT about the L3 BTEC courses on offer to raise their aspirations.
A brilliant night, and we are looking forward to going to more shows in the future!
